ARCH1201--Project 3--Drawings

My site is Site 1, according to the outline, our building should be no more than 30 metres deep, so I only use half of site 1. The other half at back which connects to the carpark nearby will be a large open space, so people can see and come to the gallery directly from the carpark.

In my design, I have serveral small galleries to display the sculptures and two main galleries display paintings either large or small. The main source of light in the gallery is the skylight and some narrow windows on the wall. In the facade, there will be two large openings to let people on King Street know this is a gallery, and people standing in the gallery can also get a street view underneath.

The galleries either large or small are not all on the same level, so that people can walk and experience the artworks and the space with enough room and interesting level changes.
